Emotions

One must be fascinated with ideological principles and thoughts in order to appreciate what I am about to say. Love is by far the most complicated of emotions and it transfers all along a myriad of areas. What I mean by this is its reach is from inanimate objects to people to romances to animals, etc. It is not a simplified concept affecting a minor part in one’s life. It is the one emotion that can make you feel like you are crazy and have lost your mind. It can bring you to places never experienced before but most of all……it is the one emotion that is most powerful and can and will overcome anything.

For example, I watch my teenage daughter go through every aspect of love in a single day. They have (at their ages) stages in their love life of everything from crushes to boyfriends to more drama than any network needs to generate multiple seasons in a show. Alas, the emotion is ever present. When a young girl has a crush on a young man and the male does not respond accordingly…the world will end. They will never graduate, their life will suck and so forth. But, if the opposite reaction is true they plan on saving the world one cause at a time. It’s amazing what a simple emotion can create. There is more heartbreak in middle school and high school than most adult have in a year. Cheating, drama, who is a slut and who isn’t. I mean last time I checked the purpose of school was to learn and socialize around peers so that when they do turn 18, they are free to roam about in a productive, upstanding way. Boy, was I wrong!!

Nonetheless, I look and listen to her daily dose of drama and look at my own relationship and fears and they seem so small, simple…trivial even. I am an adult and should be better at this sort of thing and yet my daughter at times pulls some tough love on me. I strongly believe that emotions can have profound effects on us as individuals even in their most simplest ways from birth to death they affect us directly and those around us.
